Yep. Not sure how that happened but almost two months have by since I put anything on this stupid little blog.
A lot has happened in the last two months. Traveling, parties, work, life. Life is so weird. We are still living in the apartment while #mybigfatdreamhome is being completed. Living in a 500 square foot space with five people has been… interesting. Nolan started school last month at his new elementary school that is only four houses down from our new home. We’ll be walking to school! Come on, December! This is the fourth week of kindergarten for him and we’re slowing working towards no tears in the morning. His. And mine.
I’m happy for him. I mean, I am thrilled for him. I’ve never been more sure in my life that sending him to school was the right thing to do. We have lots of friends who home school, and aside from me working, it’s just not something that is in the cards for us. He’s six, and he’s definitely ready to conquer kindergarten. And he loves his teacher. We have always lucked out on having amazing teachers.
Leah is in preschool and she seems to like it also. She’s such a social butterfly, never met a stranger. Her ballet class started back up for the fall and she’s loving that as well.
Huck. Oh, baby Huck seems to be in such a hurry to grow up. In the last two months he’s been sitting up, crawling, pulling up on furniture, and standing on his own for a few seconds. He hates baby food. We just figured out that he prefers table food instead. He’s such a chill and relaxed baby during the day. He can play indepedently for extended period of times and really only cries when he’s hungry. We’ve had a few set backs in the sleep department recently, but his pediatrician says that’s to be expected. The lack of sleep doesn’t bother him though, but mom and dad are a different story. Which reminds me, I need to pick up some more under eye concealer at the drug store this afternoon. YAWN.
I’m still plugging along with grad school and still enjoying it for the most part. I have a pretty insatiable appetite for learning and I really do like that I am able to apply my education to the real working world. I use the skills and classroom knowledge on an almost daily basis in both of my jobs. So that’s cool. I totally just geeked out.
But really, would you expect anything else?
